Parashat Vayikra opens a new book in the Torah - a book about getting closer to Hashem. The first words say: “And He called to Moshe.” Hashem doesn’t just speak, He calls. It’s a personal, gentle, loving invitation to come closer. Right after that, the Torah starts talking about korbanot / offerings. What’s the connection? Why is getting close to Hashem connected to bringing a korban?

The answer is very deep: a korban is not just something physical, It’s an inner process.

The word “korban” comes from the word “karov”, to be close. A person brings something from himself, gives up something, fixes something inside, and gets closer. It’s not just about giving - it’s about changing. And in these days, when the Israel nation is going through a difficult time, with tension and war, especially with Iran and threats around us, this message feels very real.

We see fear, uncertainty, and sometimes we feel like things are out of our control. But Parashat Vayikra teaches us: even in a situation like this, we still have a way to get closer. We can’t always control what happens outside, but we can always work on what’s happening inside.

Today, our korban/offering is not an animal, it’s our heart. Our Faith. Our ability to stay connected to Hashem even when things are hard, especially in times of war, there is a call to us - “Vayikra.” Hashem is calling us not to distance ourselves with fear, but to come closer with Faith. And this is also the power of a community.

When things are hard, we don’t stay alone, we get stronger together. We pray together. We support each other. A community with strong Faith is a strong community, even in the face of big threats. And we are also getting close to Pesach, a time of cleaning. We clean our homes from chametz, but really, it’s a symbol. The real preparation is to clean the chametz inside us.

What is chametz? Ego. Anger. Stress. The feeling of “I’m on my own.” Matzah is simple, flat, not puffed up. It represents humility, simplicity, and faith. Just like, we check every room for chametz, we should also stop and ask: Where do I have things inside that need cleaning? Which thoughts are weighing me down? Where can I be more real, more clean, more connected to Hashem?

This is our korban today, to clean something inside, in order to come closer. And especially now, with everything happening in the land of Israel, this is the time to strengthen simple faith. To know we are not alone, that Hashem is running the world, even when we don’t understand. May we merit to hear the call - “Vayikra” - even in the noise and confusion. May we merit to clean out all the inner chametz, and enter Pesach with a clean heart and strong faith. And may we see salvation, protection for Israel, peace and safety, very soon, Amen.

דבר תורה לפרשת ויקרא

פרשת ויקרא פותחת לנו ספר חדש – ספר של קרבה. כבר בפסוק הראשון נאמר” :ויקרא אל משה – “ הקב"ה לא רק מדבר, אלא קורא. זו קריאה אישית, עדינה, מלאה אהבה. וכמו שמסבירים חז"ל, זו לשון חיבה – הזמנה להתקרב

אבל מיד לאחר הקריאה הזו, התורה עוברת לדבר על הקרבנות. לכאורה, מה הקשר ביניהם? למה הדרך

להתקרב אל ה' עוברת דרך הקרבת קרבן

התשובה היא עמוקה מאוד: הקרבן איננו רק פעולה חיצונית , הוא תהליך פנימי. המילה "קרבן" באה מלשון

"קירבה". האדם מביא משהו מעצמו, מוותר, מתקן, מתקרב. זה לא רק לתת, זה להשתנות

ובימים האלו, כשעם ישראל נמצא במצב מורכב וקשה, עם מתחים ומלחמות, במיוחד מול איראן ואיומים מכל כיוון, המסר הזה נהיה חי ונושם. אנחנו רואים מציאות של פחד, חוסר ודאות, ולעיתים גם תחושת חוסר שליטה. אבל דווקא כאן, פרשת ויקרא באה ואומרת לנו: גם בתוך המציאות הזו – יש לנו דרך להתקרב

לא תמיד אנחנו יכולים לשלוט במה שקורה בחוץ, אבל תמיד אפשר לעבוד על מה שקורה בפנים

הקרבן של היום הוא לא פר ולא כבש , אלא הלב שלנו. האמונה שלנו. היכולת שלנו להישאר מחוברים לה' גם כשקשה

דווקא בזמן של מלחמה, יש קריאה אלינו, ”ויקרא.“ ה' קורא לנו לא להתרחק מתוך פחד, אלא להפך, להתקרב מתוך אמונה

וזה גם תפקיד של קהילה. כשיש קושי , אנחנו לא נשארים לבד . אנחנו מתחזקים יחד. מתפללים יחד. תומכים אחד בשני. קהילה שמחוברת לאמונה, היא קהילה חזקה, גם מול איומים גדולים

ואנחנו מתקרבים גם לפסח. זמן של ניקוי. אנחנו מנקים את הבית מחמץ, אבל האמת היא שזה רק הסמל. העבודה האמיתית היא לנקות את ה"חמץ" שבתוכנו

מה זה חמץ? גאווה. כעס. לחץ. תחושת "אני לבד ."

מצה, היא פשוטה, נקייה, בלי תפיחה. היא מסמלת ענווה, פשטות, אמונה.

וכמו שאנחנו עוברים חדר חדר ומחפשים חמץ, כך כדאי לעצור רגע ולשאול: איפה יש בי דברים שצריך לנקות? איזה מחשבות מכבידות עליי? איפה אני יכול להיות יותר נקי, יותר אמיתי, יותר מחובר לה

זה הקרבן שלנו היום, לוותר על משהו פנימי, כדי להתקרב

ובמיוחד עכשיו , עם כל מה שקורה בארץ ישראל, זה הזמן להתחזק באמונה פשוטה. לדעת שאנחנו לא לבד. שה' מנהיג את העולם, גם כשאנחנו לא מבינים

שנזכה בעזרת ה' לשמוע את הקריאה, ”ויקרא“, גם בתוך הרעש והבלבול. שנזכה לנקות מעצמנו את כל ה"חמץ" הפנימי, ולהיכנס לפסח בלב נקי ואמונה חזקה. ושנזכה לראות ישועות גדולות, שמירה על עם ישראל, שלום וביטחון, במהרה בימינו, אמן
