Dear esteemed members of the Jewish Association of the Philippines,
On Sunday, the 7th of July, the Jewish Association of the Philippines together with the Welcome Center hosted a very successful Musical evening to bid Rabbi Goldschmidt and his family a fond farewell. I would like to personally thank everyone that attended and made it a special night.
A special thanks goes out to Asher for his singing of Am Israel, Mike and Netania Hanopol for once again gracing our event with their performance, the musical family band from Davao and all who spoke about the Goldschmidts and our community so wonderfully. And, of course, the Rabbi for gracing the night with his excellent bass playing and Elisheva for her beautiful singing for the ladies.
I remember having a wonderful conversation with the Rabbi right after the Board received his letter six months ago saying that the Goldschmidts would not be renewing their contract. The Rabbi explained that they are an adventurous family and were looking forward to embarking on their next adventure. I am sure we all look forward to staying in touch with them and hearing about their upcoming escapades! We wish them luck in their future endeavors and hope that they come back to Manila to visit us soon.
On behalf of the community, we wish the Goldschmidt's a safe journey and a wonderful life going forward in their future endeavors. We will all miss you!
Warm wishes
Salito Malca
President
Jewish Association of the Philippines
